Description

Produced by Micro-Trains, this heavyweight sleeper is decorated in the  Royal Purple  paint scheme that was applied to several classes of cars for the Atlantic Coast Line. And as you can see, it was very distinctive.  There are two road names available. (See also the ‘Everglades’ ACL car.)

The ACL had a car ‘Cape Cod’. This car would also be a nice addition to any of the trains that carried Atlantic Coast Line cars, some of which, but not all, are listed here: Florida Special, South Wind, The Champion, Havana Special, City of Miami to name some of the better known trains.

Special reference to other purple cars for Atlantic Coast Line at the RailSmith Models ‘Florida Special’ train production:http://lowellsmith.net/product-category/railsmith/atlantic-coast-line-florida-special/

Many of the heavyweight Pullman sleepers started being scrapped in 1963. Yet some survived to the end of that decade being used in reserve for heavy traffic calls. It was the last decade of classic American passenger service.

I look forward to continuing to buy trains from my favorite special run train maker. That’s how I think of you now, “The Train Maker”.  And speaking of cool trains, I just received a box loaded with great looking Texas Special cars. Thanks.  I certainly look forward to all the new releases you are planning.
