Frisco’s Diner ‘Tulsa’

Frisco had two Lounge-Diners built for the Meteor. named Tulsa and Oklahoma City, both built by Pullman-Standard with round end observation style for end of train use.  In later years the inconvenience of a diner only used at the end of the train, lead to the decision to have the car modified for mid-train use.

That is the version we have in this production. Decorated in the silver and red as all of the other Meteor cars.

This is a classic version of the Tulsa. What a beauty!

The consist was as follows:  One RPO Baggage, often one or two heavyweight baggage (as needed), three or four Chair Cars,  a Dormitory Chair Car, one Dining Car, Coach Buffet Lounge, five  Sleepers, one Buffet Lounge Observation Car.  This was pulled by two E-7 locomotives in the bright red scheme.

The Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis, is a great resource for this information and I have relied heavily on their publication on the Meteor. They also show consists in the 1950’s and 60’s with more head-end baggage and heavyweight Pullman Sleepers in the consists.

Just wanted to thank you again for the opportunity to be with you and the many other happy folks who experienced the Feather River Canyon trip.  I know you put a lot of work into making this special trip a reality and it all came together extremely well!

Thanks, Lowell, for another awesome addition to an already incredible train.

Lowell, I am very pleased with the N Scale Ferdinand Magellan Presidential car. As a retired US Secret Service agent I have conducted security advances for the president and his family traveling by train. I have done a lot of research on the Ferdinand Magellan and the model has excellent detail. It will be an…

I look forward to continuing to buy trains from my favorite special run train maker. That’s how I think of you now, “The Train Maker”.  And speaking of cool trains, I just received a box loaded with great looking Texas Special cars. Thanks.  I certainly look forward to all the new releases you are planning.

I am looking forward to many more releases in the new year. I stayed up really late on Christmas to talk to Santa when he came by our house. I asked him for an n-scale SP&S 700, and he said that was out of his league and I’d better call you.

Wow… You made my dream come true with the CK Holiday! I am a great admirer of your work.

I just received my Carolwood Pacific cars yesterday. They are exquisite! Every attention to detail was paid here, and I can’t thank you enough for putting this into production.  They are going to look amazing, circling my main Street miniatures display.

Aside from the quality, creativity and originality, you are to be commended for your ongoing commitment to this (GAC) series, and all of your series of trains over a period of so many years.  There is always something to look forward to. Keep up the great work!’ D. K.
