Description

Sleeper Blue Rapids

In 1950 PRR took delivery of fourteen 10/6 Sleepers. Most were painted in Missouri Pacific’s Eagle scheme. Two were painted for the ‘Overland Route’ for transcontinental service. Delivered in the Two-Tone-Gray and later were painted in PRR’s Tuscan. According to the PRRT&HS, the Blue Rapids was assigned to the New York to San Francisco carried on PRR’s Admiral and then to the San Francisco Overland.

Blue Rapids was built by American Car & Foundry and we will call this a Classic version of this car. Our version will include the three inch full skirts that you see in this builders photo of the car!

Every aspect of the trip was professionally done.  You and Barbara were on top of every change and your matter-of-fact assurances speak highly of your professionalism.  Jo Ann is a retired chef  and we know what good food is, and the meals provided on the CZ trip were stellar! BRAVO to you and Barbara for…

I am looking forward to many more releases in the new year. I stayed up really late on Christmas to talk to Santa when he came by our house. I asked him for an n-scale SP&S 700, and he said that was out of his league and I’d better call you.

Thanks for all the great trains – it’s nice to have such wonderful rolling stock on the layout.
