Description
Presenting a ‘Blunt End Sleeper’ for the Golden State!
Presenting the SP observation ‘Golden Dawn’ in silver & red.
Southern Pacific had a total of nine blunt-end observations. The paint scheme of these for the assigned trains, would evolve over time. This scheme is the original Golden State livery.
Both the Rock Island and the Southern Pacific shared duties and contributed car for this Chicago to Los Angeles train. The Rock Island Observations were fluted and with the rounded (boat) end.
This car Golden Dawn, was one of the two SP cars assigned to the Golden State.
This is all according our good friends at the Southern Pacific Historical & Technical Society.
RailSmith Blunt End Observation features: accurate newly tooled end detail including operating rear light, photo etched door safety bar, period and car accurate drumhead (not lit), as well as Micro-Trains True Scale Coupler on the rear of the car.
Production costs seem to be volatile these days and we expect that the retail price of these cars will increase at or before delivery, so please reserve your car today for your best pricing.
This is a Prototype car and will only be produced one time.
