RailSmith- NYC Fluted Diner
$55.00
Planned for January 2024
Description
The New York Central had dining cars from Budd, AF&C & Pullman that were used in general service throughout the NYC System. In later years, these cars replaced the twin-unit diners on many trains.
Originally delivered in the all silver scheme, our version is the later of the distinctive dark gray lettering boards with the NYC lettering in the light gray.
This RailSmith fluted diner will be a stand in, and a very good one we think, for a NYC fluted diner.
Photo here of diner 461 which was one of the 16 cars built by the Budd Company in 1948 for the NYC.
RailSmith is happy to bring another never-before-produced car to N Scale.
We will call this, a classic version of this car, and we know that ‘Central’ fans will be glad to get a car they thought they would never see!
