Sleeper – 1947 North Coast Limited

Heavy-weight Sleeper  Chief Red Thunder

Purchased from the Pullman Company, the Northern Pacific had 25 cars that were 10-1-1 room configuration that were all named after ‘Chiefs’. These heavy-weight cars were used along with the brand new light weight cars for the streamlined North Coast Limited.

The 1947 NCL was painted in what the NP called the ‘Streamliner’ scheme. More recently modelers and rail fans have called it the ‘Pine Tree’ scheme.

This car is being produced by Micro-Trains exclusively for us, using their heavyweight sleeper 141 Series sleeper, and is appropriately a 10-1 room format as the NP’s Chief series sleepers were.

Just one road name is being produced at this time. Be sure to check out the consist chart for our 1947 North Coast Limited.

Don’t miss the limited run F units for this train!

Because of production delays at Micro-Trains, the exact release date is not certain, but will be 2022. Watch here for updates. Thanks for your understanding.

I just received my Carolwood Pacific cars yesterday. They are exquisite! Every attention to detail was paid here, and I can’t thank you enough for putting this into production.  They are going to look amazing, circling my main Street miniatures display.

Every aspect of the trip was professionally done.  You and Barbara were on top of every change and your matter-of-fact assurances speak highly of your professionalism.  Jo Ann is a retired chef  and we know what good food is, and the meals provided on the CZ trip were stellar! BRAVO to you and Barbara for…

I have never been treated as graciously and in a manner more suited to a VIP in my life, as I was on our train trip.  It’s obvious how you’ve made your life a success story.  Looking around the train and seeing your friends I’m pretty sure they  were all made to feel very special by you, and your…

What a trip! We had a great time- exceeded our expectations by a mile. The Silver Lariat was simply stunning. A gem on the rails. The scenery and weather were perfect. The delays were not an issue for us at all. All just a good days work on the railroad! Thank you for all the…
