The National N Scale Convention – A Gathering of N Scale Enthusiasts

Since 1993 we have been gathering to celebrate the joy of N Scale modeling, which in the earlier days was named the N Scale Collector. And, while many are still collectors, the organization has grown to include all lovers of N Scale.

Today, the gathering is known as the National N Scale Convention and is sponsored by the N Scale Enthusiast.  For five days in June, it encompasses such activities as layout tours, model contest, model clinics, prototype tours of places like railroad shops and factories, a live auction, a huge train show/swap meet, a Manufacturer’s Breakfast and the Dinner Banquet that are full of fun, and N Scale information, and includes thousands of dollars of N Scale prizes.

If all of that does not sound enticing, the fellowship alone is worth it all. We have come to call this an N Scale ‘Family Reunion’ because that is exactly what it is. Folks come from all over the world, but mostly North America, to share stories and models that both encourage and inspire for more.

The entire N Rail community supports this event showing their layout modules, during those five days in June, and enjoy running trains and sharing the love of N Scale in whatever community the National N Scale Convention has chosen for that year.  Speaking of that, the convention is held from the north to south and east to west and alternates between those areas each and every year.

The 2025 convention will be held in Kansas City and, as usual, will not be a disappointment. We would love to have you join us at this year’s N Scale event!  Whether it is close, or not, to where you live, make the effort.  You will be glad you did!

Here is a link to the organization and event page and you can become a member here (or use the application form below). And please tell them that Lowell And Barb suggested you!

“You seem to be the shining light in an industry that’s seen a lot of change since the early 2000’s when I was last in the hobby”.

And as for your goal of 5 releases a year, I admire your ambition, but I won’t hold it against you if you fall short on that accomplishment.  I’m just thrilled you’re doing such an AWESOME job of releasing this amazing train, and hope you don’t stop until it’s all done!

Thanks, Lowell, for another awesome addition to an already incredible train.

I received my observation/business car today and – like all of my other cars from you – I love it!

Thank you ever so much for being such an integral part of the model railroading hobby!

Paul G.

I just received my Carolwood Pacific cars yesterday. They are exquisite! Every attention to detail was paid here, and I can’t thank you enough for putting this into production.  They are going to look amazing, circling my main Street miniatures display.

Lowell, I just want you to know – you make this hobby fun!

Jim and Jo Ann K.

Every aspect of the trip was professionally done.  You and Barbara were on top of every change and your matter-of-fact assurances speak highly of your professionalism.  Jo Ann is a retired chef  and we know what good food is, and the meals provided on the CZ trip were stellar! BRAVO to you and Barbara for…

I look forward to continuing to buy trains from my favorite special run train maker. That’s how I think of you now, “The Train Maker”.  And speaking of cool trains, I just received a box loaded with great looking Texas Special cars. Thanks.  I certainly look forward to all the new releases you are planning.

Lowell, thanks to you and your company SP&S modelers (myself included) are having a much easier time modeling the North Bank Road. Thank you for your hard work!
