Teaser: Preproduction ‘Tiger Stripe’ RS-3

Lowell Smith RS 3 SP&SIt is just like Christmas when a production run arrives here!  The moment of opening the box, and gazing for the first time, a train that was probably thought of years before and took at least a year to produce. It is very exciting for me and I hope you feel the same way.

That is what happened last week with the “Columbia Belle” fruit car and later this week, I hope to see the 2013 Christmas car I did for the Walt Disney Family Museum.

Sometimes I get preproduction samples to approve or modify. That is the case of this preproduction image of my ‘tiger stripe’ RS-3 from Atlas. These are expected close to the end of the year.  I thought it would be nice to share this with you just to get the juices going!

“So many trains…so little time!”

Nothing better than receiving that white box from Lowell Smith.

That car is about the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in N scale!  Excellent work!

I am looking forward to many more releases in the new year. I stayed up really late on Christmas to talk to Santa when he came by our house. I asked him for an n-scale SP&S 700, and he said that was out of his league and I’d better call you.

G.N.

As a retiree of the Walt Disney Company I look forward to upcoming releases of the Disney Family Museum and Disneyland series.  Keep up the excellent work!

The thing I love about all the things you do is the fact that everything is so well thought out, so beautiful and so unique.
