Silver Smith Tour 2013 recap

A trip of a lifetime is one way to describe our Silver Smith Tour of 2013. Our private rail cars traveled on the California Zephyr, The Empire Builder, and The Coast Starlight circling our wonderful country through the Rockies, the plains, the Cascades and back home. The Silver Lariat (The Silver Smith) dome car, The Palm Leaf, and the Silver Rapids made seeing the USA a spectacular adventure, since trains can go where cars cannot.

Chartering these particular rail cars added a touch of comfort that was reminiscent of wonderful days gone by.  All that was on the agenda was enjoying the view from the dome, chatting with our friends, and being pampered by our own chef and crew, who served food beyond compare and served us in whatever ways they could.

We are planning our next trip!  Watch for more information here.  – Barb

    Lowell and Barb,

First off, Kim and I want to thank both of you for organizing and then hosting the California Zephyr Silver Smith 2013 Tour. It was to say the least, a trip of a lifetime. Having to opportunity to travel to the Milwaukee N-Scale Enthusiast convention in coaches of a bygone era, the new friends that we met, the absolutely outstanding scenery (the lightning storm in Colorado was over the top!), experiencing the services and scrumptious meals that the staff provided were beyond compare. We couldn’t ask for anything better for our first long term train trip.

You should add a participant photo section we can add some of our own images of the trip.

We are looking forward to the next Silver Smith tour that you are planning and the gift exchange that occurred going and East and coming home West.

    Roger & Kim

And as for your goal of 5 releases a year, I admire your ambition, but I won’t hold it against you if you fall short on that accomplishment.  I’m just thrilled you’re doing such an AWESOME job of releasing this amazing train, and hope you don’t stop until it’s all done!

Ferdinand Magellan is great! This really fits your mission of offering significant cars that otherwise wouldn’t be produced.
