Description

‘SUN PARK’  – UP Sleeper

Union Pacific ordered 12 cars from American Car & Foundry built with 12 roomettes and 4 bedrooms.  Delivered in 1949, these cars were given the prefix ‘Western’.

In 1965, the demand for more bedrooms lead the UP to convert their Western Series to eleven bedroom cars. These were then renamed with the prefix ‘Sun’, and the ‘Sun Series’ was born. The only exterior change was the addition of one window, which we did not add.

In the late 1960’s, many of the SUN series cars were leased to the Seaboard Coast Line for a time.

RailSmith has tooled some new parts and used existing Pullman parts to create this never-before-in-N-Scale sleeper! This a Classic version and another great sleeper you need!

And if Union Pacific is your road, then be sure to see the new UP Sleeper Fleet#1 that includes this Sun Park as well as both Western Series sleepers being offered now at this same time.

Trust us, you will love it!

“You seem to be the shining light in an industry that’s seen a lot of change since the early 2000’s when I was last in the hobby”.

Just a quick note to acknowledge receipt of my AFT Tool Car. Thanks so much for another Outstanding Piece of Craftsmanship! The AFT is my most prized “N” Scale collection. I had perceived that there were delays in getting this last car into our hands, but thought it was a problem with China. Your letter…

Lowell, thanks to you and your company SP&S modelers (myself included) are having a much easier time modeling the North Bank Road. Thank you for your hard work!

Aside from the quality, creativity and originality, you are to be commended for your ongoing commitment to this (GAC) series, and all of your series of trains over a period of so many years.  There is always something to look forward to. Keep up the great work!’ D. K.
