Description

Texas Special – Pennsy’s  ‘Swatara Rapids’

Shadowlined Cars – The Pennsylvania Railroad contributed cars for the Texas Special for passenger connections in New York.  Known as ‘interline’ cars, they were painted to match and lettered for the Texas Special consist of red and silver. But as these cars were smooth sided cars, they were given the distinctive shadow line paint to blend into the rest of the train. Look carefully at the black & white photo here is a shadowlined car!

We are excited to announce that Micro-trains has been commissioned to decorate this RailSmith car! This car will be stunning, smartly decorated in the shadow line scheme as seen here and will match the RailSmith Texas Special.

Swatara Raipds is a 10/6 Pullman Standard Sleeper. This is a Prototype car. And as you can see…it is amazing!!
