Description

KCS Diner – ‘Jackson’

Built in 1949 by American Car & Foundry, this diner was rebuilt for service on the KCS executive train in 1996.

Kansas City Southern took pride in their passenger service and continually looked for ways to improve. Noted that as late as 1965 they purchased ten coaches from Pullman-Standard. Proof that in a time when other lines were shutting down passenger service, the Kansas City Southern was still improving theirs.

This a ‘Classic’ version diner for the Southern Belle, and can also be used on a business train ‘special’ of more recent times.
