Description

Single Sleeper – 1947 North Coast Limited Sleepers: Helena- Streamliner (Pine Tree) Scheme

This selection is for a single car which is also included in the ‘FLEET #1’. See that selection for cost effect savings for all three cars being released.

Built in 1947 by Pullman-Standard, this car were part of an eighteen car order, and the first cars for the streamlined North Coast Limited.

This is Pullman-Standard floor plan 4119. Designated 8-6-3-1, as eight duplex roomettes, six roomettes, three double bedrooms and one compartment. All of these cars were named for towns along the NP route.

When delivered, they were painted in what the NP called the ‘Streamliner’ scheme. More recently modelers and rail fans have called it the ‘Pine Tree’ scheme. They were also delivered with skirts, which our models accurately have.

This is a Prototype car and to the era of this paint scheme, has skirts. See a nice photo in this gallery of this sleeper in front of the station.

There are three road names being produced at this time.

What a trip! We had a great time- exceeded our expectations by a mile. The Silver Lariat was simply stunning. A gem on the rails. The scenery and weather were perfect. The delays were not an issue for us at all. All just a good days work on the railroad! Thank you for all the…

I am looking forward to many more releases in the new year. I stayed up really late on Christmas to talk to Santa when he came by our house. I asked him for an n-scale SP&S 700, and he said that was out of his league and I’d better call you.

I look forward to continuing to buy trains from my favorite special run train maker. That’s how I think of you now, “The Train Maker”.  And speaking of cool trains, I just received a box loaded with great looking Texas Special cars. Thanks.  I certainly look forward to all the new releases you are planning.
