They, are… GONE…

Description

Produced by Micro-Trains, this heavyweight sleeper is decorated in the  Royal Purple  paint scheme that was applied to several classes of cars for the Atlantic Coast Line. And as you can see, it was very distinctive.  There are two road names available. (See also the ‘Cape Cod’ ACL car.)

This car is named for the first National Park created solely for the purpose of preservation of animals and plants, and the environment that sustains them.

This car would also be a find addition to any of the trains that carried Atlantic Coast line cars. Some of which, but no all, are listed here: Florida Special, South Wind, The Champion, Havana Special, City of Miami to name some of the better known trains.

Special reference to the RailSmith Models production of the ACL Florida Special http://lowellsmith.net/product-category/railsmith/atlantic-coast-line-florida-special/

Many of the heavyweight Pullman sleepers started being scrapped in 1963. Yet some survived to the end of that decade, being used in reserve for heavy traffic calls. It was the last decade of classic American passenger service.

And as for your goal of 5 releases a year, I admire your ambition, but I won’t hold it against you if you fall short on that accomplishment.  I’m just thrilled you’re doing such an AWESOME job of releasing this amazing train, and hope you don’t stop until it’s all done!

I look forward to continuing to buy trains from my favorite special run train maker. That’s how I think of you now, “The Train Maker”.  And speaking of cool trains, I just received a box loaded with great looking Texas Special cars. Thanks.  I certainly look forward to all the new releases you are planning.
