4449 Excursion Train

This is a train you can run on your railroad from the 1970’s to today!

The cars are ones that the organization ‘Friends of the 4449’ own, or are owned personally by Doyle McCormack. Doyle was the main force behind the original rebuild in 1974-75 and is still active today.

The popularity of the 4449 is beyond others as it was front and center during the nation’s 200th birthday celebration pulling the American Freedom Train.
Owned by the City of Portland (OR), the train has been in constant service since then, only being sidetracked for required maintenance.
