Fall Means Indoor Railroading for the Model Railroad Enthusiast

I really love the fall season.  Every year, as the days get colder, it is a reminder of the fun hobby of model railroading. And although it truly is not a seasonal hobby for me, it is the time of year the focus comes back indoors after the fun warm days of summer.

Last night was train operations night at my lifelong friend’s home layout.  His model railroad is of my favorite -Spokane, Portland & Seattle – so you know I love it!  Modeling train operations is such a blast!  About fifteen guys showed up and trains were rolling. And, I did something that I had not done before. I brought my Great American Circus & Wild West Show train to run. It really looked nice rolling through Rick’s model of the scenic Columbia River Gorge and took just over an hour to go from one end to the other.  Several other operators complained of the smell as the circus stock cars rolled past their train in a siding. We do play hard.

Do you operate your model layout? I’d love to hear your stories as well.

Here’s a short clip of our adventure from last night (taken with my iPhone). Enjoy!: 102113ModelRailroadingAdventures

Thank you for all that you do for the N Scale community. Your products by far, in my opinion, are the top of the line when it comes to N Scale Trains and I am always on the lookout for them when they come up for auction.

I look forward to continuing to buy trains from my favorite special run train maker. That’s how I think of you now, “The Train Maker”.  And speaking of cool trains, I just received a box loaded with great looking Texas Special cars. Thanks.  I certainly look forward to all the new releases you are planning.

Ferdinand Magellan is great! This really fits your mission of offering significant cars that otherwise wouldn’t be produced.
